Cheap parking at Norfolk cruise port? East Coast Departures Cruise Critic Community

It will take weeks, maybe even months to clear a path for vessels, and it could be up to a year before the harbor is completely clear. However, it is expected that the harbor will not have to be completely cleared in order that the port can commence vessel traffic. The most pressing issue to restoring the harbor for vessel traffic is to remove the wreckage of the cargo ship that struck the bridge and the superstructure of the bridge. The structure of the bridge is so heavy that pieces will need to be cut so that they can be handled by cranes. Parking, guest drop-off and luggage drop-off will be at Cedar Grove Parking Lot (1000 Monticello Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510) between Virginia Beach Boulevard and Princess Anne Road. This offer is not valid with any other promotion or discounts.

Norfolk Cruise Terminal - Off-Site Parking

I don't know of any hotels that specifically do a park and cruise deal. When we visit Norfolk now, we stay at the Courtyard on Plume St. which has mid-range rates (it's about 6-8 blocks from the cruise pier, but a block or so to the McArthur Mall). They charge us nightly for parking, and I have no idea if they do week-long parking, but you could probably find them on the Marriott site and call/email and ask. The Long Beach Cruise Terminal is a five-story parking garage with more than 1,400 available spaces to accommodate all cruise travelers departing from the Long Beach port. Oversized vehicles are charged by how many parking spaces they occupy during their trip. Cash and credit cards are accepted and payment to the Long Beach Cruise Terminal must be made before your cruise departs.

Norfolk will become the east coast’s newest year-round cruise port in 2025 when Carnival begins sailing from downtown each week. In preparation, Nauticus’ Half Moone Cruise Center is undergoing $12 million in enhancements. This guest-focused project consists of an inclined walkway for debarking passengers, additional seating for guests waiting to board, and an improved ground transportation design. Often cruise lines offer special rates that cannot be displayed to the general public.

You can conveniently drop your bags off at the Port of Norfolk cruise terminal before parking your vehicle, and take the complementary shuttle back to your cruise ship. Similarly, I've not heard of any really great hotel deals......most downtown hotels charge a pretty parking fee on top of the room..... Places I have seen mentioned with a parking/shuttle deal tend to be closer to the airport.

Travelers can parking at the port for a daily fee of $7 (for the sandlot) or $15 for the closest parking option. Luggage will be checked in and dropped to baggage handlers at the parking lot. Passengers must tag each bag using the bag tag instructions provided on the Carnival website.
